RACHEL’S STORY

Rachel is a ocean surf ski paddler from New Zealand who primarily races distances between 20-52kms. Rachel is the 6 x (consecutive) NZ Surf Ski Champion, 2 x Molokai Surf Ski World Champion and 2017 World Series Champion

Rachel was born on the 2nd of March 1990 in Wellington. As a youngster Rachel loved gymnastics, swimming and surf lifesaving. She excelled to a National level in many sports including Surf Life Saving, swimming and sprint kayaking winning numerous national titles.

Finishing high school on Auckland’s North Shore, she went onto study Personal Training at the Auckland University of Technology.  A couple of years later Rachel joined the New Zealand Police and has now been a front line Police officer based at Auckland’s North Shore for the past 7 years.

Rachel is also a volunteer lifeguard at Mairangi Bay Surf Life Saving club.

In Rachel’s spare time she loves going to the beach and spending time with friends and family.

Rachel’s ultimate goal is to win 10 x Molokai Surf Ski titles.
